Done is better than perfect

An ethos I have [sometimes reluctantly] lived by over the years. A concept that is simple yet not always easy.

 

If you know that your natural tendencies are perfectionism, procrastination or control then your inner critic and saboteur may be screaming a big fat hell no to “done is better than perfect”. My advice is to tell that voice to “talk to the hand coz the ears aren’t listening”! It is what I’ve been doing all week.

 

This week I have been building my website [teaching myself as I go] and at almost every stage I’ve had to push aside my negative inner voice. Everything came up from it not looking professional enough to not having updated photos. I had two choices - quit or push through and get it done and I’m so so proud to say that it is done! It’s definitely not perfect [and there will be many tweaks to come] but it’s done nonetheless and boy it feels amazing! A far better feeling than it would have been if I quit and that my friends is what it’s all about.

 

My new website will be live this weekend and I’ll be sure to announce it when I finally turn it “on”, oh and you bet I’ll celebrate with a
